Here I am, writing my first post from our new home base. After an intense period of prepping we’ve exchanged our life in the Netherlands for one in the US.
Talking about travel and adventures, this is by far the ‘biggest’ trip I’ve undertaken in my life.
Sad to leave home and my ‘Dutch’ family and friends, but excited for the adventures ahead of us.
We’ve been very lucky and received a warm welcome from our US family and friends.
So far, it mostly feels like a holiday, but we’ve been taking small steps to get more settled.
Receiving my social security card, opening up a bank account and most fun of all: getting my drivers license. The latter gave me the opportunity to experience the benefits of living in the countryside, rather than the city, with friendly, personable and speedy service.
Just two more days and then we’ll get on the road for a few weeks to explore the US West. So here’s to new adventures!
